Many families and small businesses are still struggling after recent challenges, and Houston area relief programs are here to help. Harris County and Fort Bend County have both introduced new programs that include rental aid, utility aid, disaster relief funds, and small business loans. The programs were established to provide instant monetary assistance and long-term stability to the residents throughout the region.
HARRIS COUNTY SMALL BUSINESS RECOVERY FUND

- Applies to small businesses in precincts 1-4, this primarily excludes businesses in the City of Houston limits and who are not in precinct 1.
- Must be a small business or nonprofit with 30 or fewer employees
- It does not have to be paid back (praise JESUS)
- Offers up to 25,000 per applicant (this means you may get less)
- Funds can be used for payroll costs, supplier payments, rent, mortgage expenses, utilities, debt interest, critical business operations costs, personal protective equipment and sanitation supplies and more
- You can use your 2018 or 2019 return to apply
- You can apply as an S Corp without a 1099
- You can apply with your personal return with or without a Schedule C

- Applications opened July 13, and will remain open for only 10 days through July 22 (APPLY IMMEDIATELY)
Small businesses who are not eligible for the Harris County relief are:
- Gambling businesses,
- Businesses organized for religious purposes,
- Residential builders
- Speculative real estate investors and
- Sexually oriented businesses

FORT BEND COUNTY SMALL BUSINESS RELIEF PROGRAM
Provides up to $10,000 to small businesses that…
- Are located in Fort Bend County;
- Have an annual revenue of between $100,000 and $2 million;
- Are a for-profit business;
- Have been in operation since Feb. 15, 2020;
- Have not permanently closed;
- Have lost at least 25% of revenue as a direct result of Covid 19;
- Are in good standing with state and local taxes, fines or other payments;
- Employ between one and 20 full-time equivalent employees. For businesses with multiple locations, employee count will be calculated per location.

Do a google search for Coronavirus relief fund and add your county name in front of it or behind it i.e. “Coronavirus relief fund Dekalb County” Repeat for your city, then state.
